Sponsor a tree or bench

Add to the quality of our parks by providing seating for people to sit and enjoy our beautiful landscapes through our seat sponsorship scheme, or find out more about the tree sponsorship scheme.

Tree sponsorship scheme

Members of the public can contribute to the landscape and enhance surroundings whilst commemorating an event with our tree sponsorship scheme.

All sponsored trees will be situated at Bouncers Lane cemetery.

  • A donation of £450 will cover the cost of establishing a new tree
  • Your request for planting must be received by the end of August to be on the planting list for that year, any later will mean the request will be added onto the following year's planting list
  • There are no guarantees of success, or of a replacement tree should the tree by vandalised or fail for any reason
  • Memorial plaques are not installed at the base of, or attached to any part of the tree
  • We are also grateful for any smaller donations that will be contributed to the overall tree planting within the borough
  • Due to the many variables associated with tree planting (such as weather conditions, availability of labour, trees etc.) it is not possible to attend any tree planting which takes place
  • Please contact the trees team to discuss options
Tree sponsorship payment

The tree sponsorship fee is £450 unless otherwise agreed with the trees section.

Seat sponsorship scheme

Add to the quality of our parks by providing seating for people to sit and enjoy our beautiful landscapes.

The provision of adequate seating is an important part of a well-maintained and managed park - seating encourages parents to bring children to parks and watch them play in comfort, and offers the elderly a welcome rest.

There is a wide range of approved seating styles:

  • traditional wooden park seating
  • traditional metal Regency seating, ideal in formal and ornamental gardens
  • park benches
  • rustic seating
  • picnic tables

We have been advised by the Gloucestershire County Council Archaeological Service, not to allow additional seats to be installed at Leckhampton Hill due to its ancient archaeological interest.

Sponsorship includes:

  • A commemorative plaque (e.g., “Sponsored by [Name]”)
  • Funding for purchase, installation, and maintenance
  • Clear terms and conditions on wording, location, and duration
  • Pre-approval from Gloucestershire Highways (if on-street)
