  • Well maintained and clean
  • Environmental management
  • Biodiversity, landscape and heritage
  • Community involvement
  • Marketing and communications
  • Management

Our parks with Green Flag Awards

Cheltenham has been entering parks into this competition since 2005, consistently winning flags for the following parks. Visit our parks and open spaces directory for more information about these parks.

  • Naunton Park
  • Hatherley Park
  • Montpellier Gardens
  • Springfields Park which won a flag for the first time in 2011.
  • Pittville Park which has also won Gloucestershire first and only Green Heritage Accreditation in 2016
  • Winston Churchill Memorial Garden entering for the award for the first time in 2018

To achieve the high standard required to enter the scheme the we work with friends groups and resident associations to improve and enhance existing facilities in parks for the use and enjoyment of local residents and users.
