Report a missed collection

If your bin, recycling boxes or food caddy have not been emptied on the day your collection is due, you can report this to us. Please check the service updates below first to see if there is a known issue with your area.

Service updates

No issues to report.

Report a missed collection

Missed collections must be reported within 48 hours of your scheduled collection day.

Before you report a missed bin:

  • Check above for any service updates
  • Is it your bin collection day? Check your collection day
  • Was your bin out in time? Collections start from 7am
  • Did you leave your bin in the right place? Bins should be placed on the kerbside. We cannot collect bins and boxes left on private property unless it is agreed as part of an assisted collection
  • Please make sure all your recycling is sorted inside the correct box or bag with the lid on. Unsorted recycling will not be collected (unless you only have one box)

Bad weather such as snow and ice may mean that it is unsafe for bin crews to leave the depot. However, unless otherwise instructed by the council, please leave your bin out as normal and we will empty it as soon as we are able

Report a missed collection online

Or you can telephone customer services on 01242 262626 (lines are open during office hours only).

What happens next

We aim to return to collect within two working days from the day that the miss is reported.

There may have been a reason why your collection was missed, for example, not being able to access the property, contaminated or overflowing rubbish. We will let you know if this is the case.
