Senior officer salaries and staffing information

Senior officer salaries

Pay and benefits for senior officers are agreed by the appointments and remuneration committee. Decisions are made by evaluating the content of each job using a set of nationally recognised criteria. Each job is then benchmarked against other national and local jobs before arriving at a specific salary, taking into account factors such as the competitiveness of the market for the role and the experience of the candidate.

  • Full council decide on any new appointment where pay (incorporating all payments and benefits in kind) exceeds £100,000
  • Full council approve any severance payments where the compensation payments exceed £100,000
